I

  • No not use warm lights to light your studio. Use natural white lighting to light up your room bright.

  • Avoid Direct or Harsh lighting. Try to point all the light away from your face, but rather lighting up the room. This is especially true with Umbrella lights. I turn my umbrella lights away from me, and have them light the entire room up without the harsh light washing out my face and skin.

  • If its Daytime, try using window light to help light up your room. Behind the camera, outside light can really brighten up a room, as long as its indirect sunlight or a cloudy day. Direct sunslight will leave light streaks in your cam.

  • Light diffusers help disperse light so that it can evenly lighten up the whole room, rather than one spot that shines harsh lighting on you and leaving the rest of the room dark. The whole room, including the space behind you, should be clear and well lit. In the Suggested equipment, I have some examples of lights that I have personally tried and used for streaming. Umbrella lights, and ring lights are ideal for this.

  • Set up 3-point Lighting. Using multiple light sorces to properly light the room according to your studio. Refer to this diagram to properly place your lighting according to your camera placement.
